In his life Warren Buffett has had two marriages that have brought him much joy and stability in his life. With having an unconventional type of relationship with both of his wives he has found a balance that has helped his creativity in investments and has given him a sound and calm place to unwind when he is outside of his business element.
His first wife Susie and he married when they were 19 and 21 years of age, they found a stability in each other and a unique quirkiness that helped them remain humble in a friendship and marriage that was filled with love and respect. The marriage brought them, three children, Susan, Peter, and Howard. Growing up in a great union for the children to see what hard work and determination can lead to.
In the late 1970s, a disconnect in the marriage had happened to where it lead to Susie wanting to be more involved in other causes outside of the household that brought her to San Francisco; where she lived after her leaving Omaha. She thought it would be a good thing to have a friend of hers check in on Warren to make sure he was getting along well without her presence. Eventually, he and the friend Astrid became involved and a relationship that no one had expected, ensued. All three of them and along with the circumstances of the new relationship and they were all fine with the new dealings.
Warren Buffett’s new wife Astrid had been with him since 1978 and has become one of his best friends that helped to keep him stable in life. Never divorcing his first wife; he found a joy in both spouses until the death of Susie that he long mourned in 2004, marrying Astrid in 2006.
