When it comes to investing, every would-be and brand new investor wants to learn how to invest like the master himself Warren Buffett. When you think of this man, you often think of the power house investing firm that he has built which is known as Berkshire Hathaway. But, the Oracle of Omaha also has his own portfolio on the side which he has groomed and built over the last fifty years. The important thing when it comes to investing is to have money in a few different places, and Warren definitely holds true to this saying in the way that he invests his money.
Warren Buffett holds the majority stock in his organization Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.A), and he works to avoid personal conflict with his shareholders at all costs. This means that none of his personal positions ever cross the positions that his organization owns, but that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t have a personal portfolio as well. The funny thing is that the majority of his personal shares are in Berkshire Hathaway, and the remainder are in a REIT known as Seritage Growth Properties ( SRG ). To be exact Warren Buffett owns an 8% stake which is valued around $6.5 million at the current moment.
Warren loves to value invest and this goes to show that even personally he sticks to this value over and over again. Warren likes a stock that will continue to grow over and over again for years to come, and the an 8% stake that he holds while a small blip in his wealth is still a healthy investment that will continue to give him healthy returns as time goes on and on. Warren Buffett stays true to many of the same investment principles that he teaches, and he continues to find new companies to back.
