While everyone in finances has heard of Warren Buffett, there are fewer who know thatWarren Buffett’s Favorite Restaurant is Gorat’s Steakhouse in his hometown of Omaha, Nebraska. Warren Buffett has accumulated many friends over the years, especially thru his company Berkshire Hathaway. When celebrity friends visit Warren Buffett loves to entertain his friends at Gorat’s Steakhouse.

Gorat’s Steakhouse was established in 1944 by Louis and Nettie Gorat. After several years Louis and Nettie turned over Gorat’s to their son, Louis “Pal” Gorat, Jr. in 1960. After 68 years in business, the Gorat’s decided to sell Gorat’s to a new owner.

In 2012 Gorat’s Steakhouse was purchased from the Gorat’s by Mr. Gene Dunn, a local restauranteur. Gorat’s has been restored and remodeled since its acquisition by Gene Dunn. The historic sign of Gorat’s was brought back to its pristine look. The landmark menu of Gorat’s still contains the famous Warren Buffett steak of choice, which is the “22 oz Omaha T-Bone.” Gene Dunn’s updated menu now contains “Mr. Buffett’s Root Beer Float.”

Warren Buffett has entertained friends like Bill Gates, Michael Eisner and Martha Stewart at Gorat’s. He also entertains notable investors during the yearly Berkshire Hathaway shareholders meeting. Warren Buffet’s favorite restaurant still today is still Gorat’s Steakhouse, where he has a particular corner he loves to eat when he visits Gorat’s.

While more and more people are feasting on the financial wisdom of Warren Buffett, Warren Buffett’s favorite restaurant, Gorat’s Steakhouse, is where he still loves to enjoy a delicious 22 oz Omaha T-Bone, a root beer float, and a friendly conversation with close friends and family. Gorat’s Steakhouse has always been center for family outings and special occasions as celebrated by thousands of families, celebrities and since 1944. Now that Gorat’s has been updated and handed over to new management it is set to be a unique and lasting eatery in Omaha for many more years.
