Warren Buffett, billionaire investor, is going to be a special guest at the live auction and Cancer Support Community benefit in North Texas being held that Nebraska Furniture Mart.
All of you shoppers attempting to visit the store today please be warned that it is going to close at 2 PM in order to get ready for this big event later on that evening.
In 1983, Warren Buffett and Berkshire Hathaway purchased a majority interest in Nebraska Furniture Mart for $60 million. The deal was part of a handshake deal with founder Rose Blumkin, but to everyone else she was known as Mrs. B. She passed away in 1998 at 104 years of age.
The CEO and chairman of Berkshire Hathaway will most likely talk about Mrs. B. during his speech. The two have a lot in common. Buffett is still working at the age of 84, and Mrs. B was selling carpet at more than 90 years of age.
Buffett has personally taken an interest in the store. He has been there a couple of times and it looks like he will continue to support it.
