Berkshire Hathaway is a multinational company founded and headed by CEO Warren Buffet. The company is involved in ownership and management of subsidiary companies. Some of the companies they fully own include Fruit of Loom, Helzberg Diamonds and GEICO.

The company is however popular for investments in other companies. They have a huge shareholding in multinationals such as Coco-Cola IBM and Wells Fargo. According to Forbes Global listing, Berkshire Hathaway is in the top 10 list of the largest public companies.

Berkshire Hathaway has headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska. Warren Buffet joined the company in the 1960s and became a controlling shareholder. He started directing the company funds into other high potential investments. As of 2017, Berkshire Hathaway had a market capitalization of $488 billion.

The company has hundreds of business interests in the world but their main concentration is seen to be in subsidiaries companies.

Berkshire Hathaway’s interests in the stock market is another factor that has contributed to its success. Their shares are traded on the New York Stock exchange market. His ability to channel funds into successful stocks brought attention from the personalities in the business sector and even the media.

The future of Berkshire Hathaway seems bright even with Warren Buffet nearing his retirement age. He has brought in a team that will oversee the management of the company which comprises of Ted Weschler and Todd Combs both investment managers with Peninsula Capital Advisors and Castle Point Hedge Fund respectively. Warren Buffet is now over 85 years old.
