Warren Buffett, popularly known as the “Oracle of Omaha” is among the top five wealthiest people in the world. He is an investment guru and an accomplished businessman with a net worth of over $60 billion. Warren Buffett was born in Omaha, Nebraska in 1930.
From a young age, he demonstrated unique abilities in business-related matters. His first company to form was Buffett Partnership Ltd. in 1956. In the same period he joined Berkshire Hathaway Inc. and by 1965, he had already gained controlling shareholding in the company. He is today the CEO of the company which has a conglomerate of businesses in numerous industries.
In 2008, he was declared the richest person in the world. He is also a philanthropist who has dedicated all his wealth to charity work. Warren Buffett married at the age of 76 to his companion Astrid Menks. Buffett had another wife who he separated in the 70s although she is now departed. They had three children.
Warren Buffett wealth is estimated to have reached $84 billion in 2018. He has however promised to give out all his wealth to charity. Already in the last one year, he has given out $28 billion through the Melinda and Bill Gates Foundation. All his wealth has been generated through his activities with Berkshire Hathaway Company.
Warren Buffett enrolled to study business at the University of Pennsylvania at the age of 16. Two years later, he moved to the University of Nebraska. At the age of 20, he was done with his first degree and was worth more than $10, 000 from businesses he had established while growing up. He then proceeded to Columbia University for his masters.
Today Warren Buffett has interests in companies such as Coco-Cola, IBM, and Wells Fargo. Through Berkshire Hathaway Inc. there are other investments in tens of other companies.
