When it comes to learning the ropes of the investment world it is often important to understand the humble roots where many of the most influential investors have come from. Getting a better idea where this legendary investor comes from is the first step in learning some of the tricks to investing like him, and learning the ins and outs of value investing which he has pioneered.
Warren Buffett was born in Omaha, Nebraska where he still lives to this day. His father was Congressman Howard Buffett, who served four terms in the United States Congress. His mother was Leila, whose maiden name is Stahl. His mother was a housewife, and with the love and support of his mother and father, Warren was vastly interested in the stock market from the age of seven. One such book that inspired Warren at a young age was One Thousand Ways to Make $1000. This was just the start of his long and fruitful career in the financial field, and with the support of his parents, he was able to flourish.
To this day Warren Buffett still resides in the same Omaha, Nebraska home that he purchased in 1958. This is his hometown and he will probably never leave it, although he does own a home in Laguna Beach, California which recently was put on the market. Warren Buffett is very down to earth, and can still be seen taking his great-grandchildren out to dairy queen at least once a month in his hometown. It is amazing that one of the richest men in the world came from such a humble little city.
