Warren Buffet is the CEO of his investment firm Berkshire Hathaway that he took control of in the mid-sixties. He took control of this company as a falling textile company when he had acquired enough stock of the company to be the major shareholder of the company. Buffett kept the company’s name but shifted the company from the textile business to an investment brokerage firm. Today we will take a look at Warren Buffett’s home.
Warren Buffett Personal Real Estate
Warren Buffett still lives in the middle-class home he bought in Omaha in 1958. This home is not in a gated community not considered large enough to even to be considered a mansion and does not have a private security guard. This 1932 built home has been remodeled over the years and is currently in line with the rest of the homes in Buffett’s neighborhood having a resale value of around $700 000 dollars. Surprisingly Buffett’s home is not the highest priced home in his neighborhood. A neighboring home next door to Buffett is valued at $826 870 dollars. Of course, since Warren Buffett is the second wealthiest person in the United States Buffett by far has the fattest wallet!
Warren Buffett California Home on Market
Warren Buffett does have his home in California which he bought for $150 000 dollars in 1971. Buffett has put this home on the market for $11 million in February of 2017. If Buffett was buying his home today he would pay around $934 000 dollars for it. Warren originally bought this second home as a vacation home for his family getaways. Warren Buffett’s wife died in 2004 and the home had been used very little by the family since Buffett’s wife died. The home has six bedrooms and more than 3500 square feet of living space. Currently, the home is still listed on the market.
