A philanthropies and one of the richest man in the world, that is Warren Buffett. He was born in Omaha, Nebraska on August 30, 1930. Buffett has the skills to add a large number in his head when he was young. He went to Woodrow Wilson high school during the time when his father was elected as US house of representative in Washinton DC. At the age of 16, he was enrolled at the University of Pennsylvania to study business then transfer to the University of Nebraska. He finished his Masters in Economics at Colombia University in 1951.
Buffett’s father was a stockbroker and served as a congressman while his mother was a homemaker. He was the only boy in three children. In 1952, Buffett married his first wife and had three children. At the age of 76, he married his second wife in 2006.
He made his first investment at 11 years old. Buffett bought a share of City Service preferred for $38/share. At 13 years old, he has his own business selling horse racing tip and as a paperboy. He and his partner bought pinball machine for $25 and installed it in barbershop during his high school time. Buffett also went door to door to sell stamps, Coca-Cola beverages, golf balls, and magazine. He established the Buffett Partnership LTD in 1956. Buffett took controls of Berkshire Hathaway in 1965, a mother company for energy, insurance, media, food, and beverage. Warren Buffett estimated net worth of $84 billion in 2018.
Buffett was diagnosed with prostate cancer and went into radiation therapy. He made an announcement June of 2006 that he will give his entire fortune to the charity under Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Buffett gave away close to 28 billion in charity during 2016 to 2017.
