Warren Buffett is the CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, an investment firm, that Buffett turned into a money-making machine in the investment business. Since 1963, Bonnett has outlasted most CEO’s by five times their years. Most CEO’s of major corporations do not last over a few years. Buffett has been CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, now, for astounding 55 years! At 84 years old currently, Buffett shows no signs at all of slowing down! Warren Buffett, even though, he is a very wealthy person, with a personal net of almost $86 billion dollars, is not frugal when he donates to his charitable causes. Buffett has his own foundation, but also last years joined forces with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Warren Buffett, Bill and Melinda Gates, and fourteen other billionaires have made their commitment to the “Giving Pledge”. The “Giving Pledge” is a commitment by wealthy individuals to donate more than 50% of their wealth to needed causes in this country. The foundation addresses national issues such as poverty, refugee assistance, aid in disaster situations, physical health standards across the world, just to name a few. In order to be a member of the “Giving Pledge, you have to be a billionaire. The Bill and Melinda Gates purpose of it’s “Giving Pledge” is to encourage people of classes and incomes to consider giving to charitable causes. Currently, those billionaires who have made the “Giving Pledge” are Leonard Ainsworth, of Ainsworth Game Technology Limited, Mohammed Dewji, CEO of MeTL Group, Dagmar Dolby, founder of Dolby Laboratories, DONG Fangjun, People’s Republic of China, Anne Grete Eidsvig, owner of Aker ASA, Sir Stelios Haji-Loannou, owner of Easy Jet Airlines, Nick and Leslie Hanauer, venture capitalist of Civic Ventures, YOU Zhonghui, of People’s Republic of China, just to name a few. The fondation seems to be satisfying it’s purpose with each new day!
