One of the Berkshire Hathaway subsidiaries, owned by Warren Buffett, has purchased a company based out of Portland, Oregon called Benson Industries LLC. They make curtain wall systems for commercial structures and skyscrapers.
The Berkshire Hathaway subsidiary, MiTek Industries, based out of Chesterfield, MO. announced that this deal was taking place about a week ago. They did not disclose any of the terms of the deal.

Formed in 1926, Benson Industries has had the opportunity to produce curtain walls for some of the most prominent and the largest buildings in the world. Their work includes One World Trade Center in New York City and the Edith Green-Wendell Wyatt Federal Office Building in Portland. The building recently underwent a $150,000,000+ redevelopment that called for an all-new façade.
The company, Benson Industries, is based out of Northwest Portland.
Benson’s CEO, Lou Niles will continue to serve in his position. The current COO, Joe Aholt will also continue in that regard. MiTek Industries will operate the company as a separate subsidy and will retain the current management team.
