Warren Buffett, billionaire investor, gave away more than $21.6 million worth of Berkshire Hathaway stock during the second part of the year 2012.

Buffett told us which donations he made this past Monday, and as the CEO and Chairman of Berkshire Hathaway, he gave away donations of his Class B shares to four charities that were not named and three people between the months of September through December of 2012.

The biggest gift that he reported this past Monday is that he gave away 172,375 shares to a nonprofit organization. This totals $16.6 million worth of shares.

He gave these gifts in addition to the other 22.4 million Class B Berkshire Hathaway shares provided to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. He also donated to four other Buffett family foundations, and they are eventually slated to distribute the entirety of Warren Buffett’s fortune.

Warren Buffett’s eventual plan is to donate the entirety of his fortune, which currently consists of 350,000 Class A shares of Berkshire Hathaway and 3.5 million Class B shares of Berkshire stock. This is worth about $51 billion, and it will all eventually go to charity.
