Warren Buffett, affectionately known as the Oracle of Omaha, recently celebrated his 84th birthday this past weekend. The American billionaire was born on August 30, 1930 in Omaha, Nebraska. He’s the only son of Howard Buffett, former Congressman.
Not surprising to anyone, the young Warren Buffett showed off his entrepreneurial vigor and early signs of becoming a billionaire at a tender young age. He filed his first tax return at 14 years old and used a watch and his bicycle as a $35 tax deduction for his paper route.
During high school, when Warren Buffett was a sophomore, he spent $25 and invested in a pinball machine. He placed this machine at the local barbershop and within a few months, his pinball business expanded to various shops all over Omaha.
After fast forwarding to the present, the billionaire CEO intends to donate the majority of his fortune to charity. He donates billions of dollars every year, and plans to give away most of his fortune before he passes on from this world if possible. With so much money to donate, it’s going to take many years to give it all away.
That’s all for now. Happy birthday Warren Buffett! Here’s to many more!
