The yearly Warren Buffett lunch auction is scheduled to take place starting on June 1, 2014 and it will end on June 6, 2014. The lunch auction will benefit the Glide Foundation of San Francisco.
The auction, being held on eBay, has a starting bid of $25,000. Last year’s winning bidder paid $1,000,100 to sit down and have lunch with the Berkshire Hathaway chairman and CEO. This is a relative bargain compared to auctions of the past. The highest bidder paid an astounding record amount of $3,456,789 for the opportunity to have lunch with the Oracle of Omaha.
Bidding begins at 7:30 PDT on June 1 and ends at 7:30 PDT on June 6. The winner will then schedule an appropriate time for a lunch date with Warren Buffett.
So far, the yearly lunch auction has generated more than $16 million for the Glide Foundation. They are a homeless services organization that Buffett’s late wife Susan favored.
You can watch the bidding on the eBay website. And if you’re feeling charitable, send the Glide Foundation a check whether you are part of the bidding or not.
